Spencer Huffman
(1921–2005)
Spencer Huffman was an American composer whose works for piano reflect a deep command of the classical tradition. His scores are preserved at the Arthur Friedheim Library at The Peabody Conservatory and are available to the public.
WIPAC honors his legacy through the Spencer Huffman Performance Award, offered annually at the competition for the best performance of one of his compositions. The award is presented by courtesy of Priscilla Huffman, widow of Spencer Huffman.
